A Day of Perfection

With the majority of the film footage editing close to being finished, it was time to start thinking about title sequences and closing credits.

After the morning warm-up, Lynn showed a montage of title sequences including three iconic films selected from very different genres: Monsters Inc, Catch Me if You Can, and Psycho.

Lynn elaborated on how title sequences can be used to enhance the feel of a film, and that they could be complex or simple and still be effective.  The group discussed the art involved in title sequencing and were introduced to the work of the legendary Saul Bass, who was responsible for creating the classic animated title sequences of the 1960s film industry.  They also saw an incredible piece of sand animation art by artist Ilana Yahav.  You can view this stunningly beautiful short film by clicking on the link below.

Lynn then created a miniature studio for animating, and Dream House Studios worked on a creative - and complicated - dream sequence featuring Nerds candy.   Hundreds and hundreds of little Nerds, and they managed to resist eating them.... almost.  That's dedication to your art.

Nova Productions organised themselves into serparate editing teams, putting together the scenes, working on title sequence and closing credits, and making their movie trailer.

Fierce concentration in the Nova Productions editing suite.

And lastly.....
